Transformers
The incoming Trump administration is committed to transforming the federal government which could affect all American society.
Our young kids loved “transformer” toys because they could be manipulated into various shapes. So can whole societies, but that’s a much bigger job.
2025 will be an exciting year in American history when a political tidal wave could transform the USA. Great change doesn’t emerge in a vacuum. It often comes bottom up (a people revolution) and other times, top down (new leadership). Sometimes it is both, simultaneously.
Transformation is the third prong of revival–and the transformers are coming.

A number of years ago, Operation Mobilization founder George Verwer was asked in an interview: “What is the “greatest need in the world today?”
He answered: spiritual revival in the Church.
Revival is always our greatest need because of the many hearts it touches and the mushroom cloud of blessings that follow. Revival/renewal/awakening (I use the words interchangeably) in a darkening world is like turning on the lights in a dank cellar to clean it up.
Transformation follows when the basement is painted, remodeled, and used for good purposes.
Before looking at transformation, let’s form a concept of revival that I borrow from my book The Fourth Wave: Here are some definitions from leading authorities on the subject:
- “Revival is the Church falling in love with Jesus all over again.” (Vance Havner)
- “Revival is a community saturated with God.” (Duncan Campbell)
- “A revival means days of heaven on earth.” (D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones)
- “Revival is God purifying his church.” (Erwin Lutzer)
- “Revival is ultimately Christ Himself, seen, felt, heard, living, active, moving in and through His Body on earth.” (Stephen Olford)
- “Revival is that strange and sovereign work of God in which he visits his own people, restoring, re-animating, and releasing them into the fullness of his blessings.” (Robert Coleman).
- “Revival is a sudden bestowment of a spirit of worship upon God’s people.” (A.W. Tozer)
- “A true revival means nothing less than a revolution, casting out the spirit of worldliness and selfishness, and making God and His love triumph in the heart and life.” (Andrew Murray).
- “Revival is the reformation of the Church for action.” (Max Warren)
- “Revival is God revealing Himself to man in awful holiness and irresistible power. It is God’s method to counteract spiritual decline and to create spiritual momentum in order that His redemptive purposes might be accomplished on earth.” (Arthur Wallis)
- “A revival is nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God.” (Charles Finney)
I personally like international Bible teacher Joy Dawson’s take: “Revival is God showing up in living technicolor with quadraphonic sound.”
Revival is GOD bringing things back to life.
On a practical level, I define historic revival as:
An awakening of God’s people that launches a thrust of evangelism among the lost which results in moral changes in society.
Notice the three prongs. 1) God revives the Church, 2) An evangelism explosion ignites, and 3) The awakened and growing Church positively impacts the culture. Thus, the third fruit of revival is social/civil transformation.
That’s the impact the the Trump re-election could bring.
Prior to 2024, the USA was careening into a dark, secular (maybe Marxist/communist) future with open borders, growing sexual confusion, dying families, killing babies (abortion), economic malaise, squelching free speech, growing government tyranny, increasing violence in the streets, and international weakness. The Democratic Party championed this destruction of faith-based America for “power” purposes.
Then the Church woke up and began to pray–by the millions. Ten of thousands were baptized in the oceans, in stadiums, and in the flatbeds of trucks. And an unlikely leader–Donald Trump–arose to point Americans back to their God-given traditional roots.
The map shows the results of the 2024 election. “Red” designates the counties that voted for Trump:
Because of the red tsunami, when Trump is sworn in on January 20, 2025, many “transformers” will be unleashed to guide the USA back to “One Nation Under God” and his principles for living.
At this writing, Trump has chosen thirty key leaders to help transform the American government. Consequential picks include Tulsi Gabbard (former Democrat) as Director of National Intelligence, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (Democrat icon) to lead Health & Human Services, Pete Hegseth (decorated military vet), Defense Secretary, former Congressman Matt Gaetz (exposer of the Russia Hoax) for Attorney General, and Marco Rubio (first Latino), Secretary of State. They and other appointees will stop corruption, streamline departments, and serve the American peoples’ interests.
Additionally, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut waste and duplication in government. (DOGE is being called the new Manhattan Project.)
All these transformers could ignite the greatest government renewal in decades.
They will be mercilessly attacked by the opposition because of the cultural battle we’re facing. Our current president even appears to be provoking Vladimir Putin into World War III in Ukraine.
But the tide has turned. Just like Pickett’s charge at the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 turned the fortunes of the Civil War, the Trump landslide could be a tipping point to renew “One Nation Under God.”
What do we do? How do we pray?
Awakening in the Church must continue to grow. Evangelism thrusts should be launched in every small town and urban center. Transformation has begun democratically. The people want secure borders, strong families, free speech, safe streets, energy independence, equal justice under the law, lower taxes, a safer world, and hope that comes from God.
Missouri Senator Eric Schmidt on the coming transformation:
“I think if you take a step back and look at what happened in this election, President Trump delivered the greatest political comeback in American history. The Democrats tried to keep him off the ballot, they tried to bankrupt him, they tried to throw him in jail for the rest of his life. He survived — including assassination attempts — he survived and emerged, winning all the battleground states, including the popular vote.
“How did he do it? He created a multi-ethnic, working-class coalition — really the disruptors versus the establishment. And I think that’s important to note as we roll into these confirmation hearings. He is willing to take on permanent Washington in a way that no president has, certainly in my lifetime.
“We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deliver that change — to take on permanent Washington, return the power back to the people. But you can’t just do it with the [the Presidency] — you have to have people you trust to go into these agencies and have a real reform agenda. And that’s why I think there’s real momentum — to get these nominations confirmed, to deliver what President Trump promised on the campaign [trail].”
Molly Hemingway adds:
But even more than that, I think [the appointments] show what a transformational president he’s setting out to be here…We’ll see how much he’s able to accomplish with a frequently hostile, entrenched, sclerotic, permanent Washington, D.C. But he has big goals and big vision and a feeling that there’s something that’s just been wrong with our country for a while, and we need to return to that glory of self-governance where we don’t have really corrupt agencies hurting the country, putting – stopping people from being able to produce.
In the Bible, King Josiah transformed Judah from the top. The Early Church lit a candle of revival from the bottom that eventually transformed the Roman Empire.
Intercede for President-elect Trump and the transformers.
And join the revival tide to renew America and your own nation.
Ron, the book I’ve chosen for my club starting in January is by Lutzer, When a Nation Forgets God. Going to see Bonhoeffer tomorrow night.
