Disagreeing With O’Reilly on the Pilgrims (and Witches)

Bill O’Reilly, host of the “No Spin News,” is one of my favorite news pundits. He reminded me a few years ago to question all you see/hear on TV and the Internet and always seek the facts about news and issues.  

I paid $280 to become a lifetime member of his nightly broadcast for access to materials and commentary. In return, I received a free set of his Killing series books (now 13). They comprise the most successful non-fiction book series in history with nearly 20 million copies sold.

His latest blockbuster is Killing the Witches: The Horror of Salem, Massachusetts.

But I disagree with O’Reilly on the Pilgrims (and Witches).

I’ve always like the initials WWJD which stand for “What Would Jesus Do?” Since Jesus is God and lived a perfect life on earth, the smartest decision a human being can make is to think about the actions and principles of Jesus Christ and apply them to their life.

The recent murder of Tyre Nichols in Memphis by five policemen has stung the nation once again regarding police brutality. Tyre was African American.

As rioting and anger begins to boil over, it might be helpful to also ask what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a respected civil rights leader–would do in our current situation. Read More

Representative Government Makes a Comeback

In our world of increasing deception and group think, I often lean on Bill O’Reilly’s “No Spin News” as a solid news source. It’s worth the monthly fee ($5.25) to get an honest view of national and world events.

I agree with O’Reilly about 90% of the time because our worldviews are closely aligned. But this week I disagreed with him on the House of Representatives “Speaker” vote. He thought it was a waste of time with too much grandstanding.

I view it as representative government making a much needed comeback.
