Why I Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day
On January 16, I joined millions of Americans in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
During the day, I also saw articles and listened to commentary by some folks who questioned Dr. King’s fitness to have a national holiday named for him.
I understood their concerns, but disagreed with their conclusion.
Here’s why I celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day.
The USA Has Less Mass Shootings Than Switzerland
I’m still on a break between school quarters, but doing a lot of praying about the soon-to-be-announced possible striking down of Roe v. Wade by the United States Supreme Court.
Abortion is the most serious crime of our time because its the largest form of “shedding of innocent blood” in human history. But there are other forms of heinous murder like unjust war, terrorism, and even school shootings–like the recent one at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Guess who leads the world in school shootings? Not the United States.
Here are the facts.
The Moment We’ve Been Praying For
Many of us have been praying for decades that Roe v. Wade would be overturned and that America and the world will stop killing innocent babies.
That moment has arrived–and we must rise to it.
It’s time to lead the abortion debate with grace and truth.
