This Culture War is All About God

It’s quite apparent that the Western World and its apex–the United States of America–is engaged in a cultural civil war. I have written numerous pieces on this subject and was among the first to call attention to the fragile state of Western Civilization.

Most civil wars aren’t quick–they take years to play out and only one side wins. This one will be no different except for one enormous detail.

The Plague Psalm & Easter Hope

There have been many plagues during the past seven thousand years of recorded history. The Bible mentions them nearly 100 times and their effect upon both individuals and nations (e.g. Deuteronomy 28:59, Hosea 13:14, and Revelation 16:9, 18:4).

One person even wrote a song about it (Psalm 91).

More songs have been written about Jesus Christ and his resurrection than any other subject in history. This Sunday billions of people will celebrate His victory over death–even while a plague stalks the planet.

Lies on the Hill, Truth in the Streets

I was deeply impacted by contrasting events that took place this week in our nation’s capital.

In the ornate Senate chamber on the Capitol Grounds, one hundred U.S. senators (and a half empty chamber) listened to a litany of lies about impeaching a U.S. president.

At the same time, on Friday afternoon, possibly 225,000 regular folks–mostly young people–gathered on the Washington Mall to march for the truth about abortion.

Lies on the Hill and truth in the streets.
