My View of the World 2023
Throughout 2022, my “view of the world” was filtered through the writing my own life story–a project which was completed in November. In One Small Life, which will come out this year, I gaze at history through a seventy year perspective (1953-2023).
This morning I received the final piece for the book–The Foreword by Leland Paris–which reinforced my thoughts on global events and what God is calling us to do. I will end this piece with Leland’s wise perspective.
But first, here’s My View of the World 2023.
Thoughts on the 2022 Midterms and the Road Ahead
I took an extra day to ponder the USA 2022 midterm elections.
I was greatly disappointed by the initial results. An extra twenty-four hours to ponder, listen, read, and pray brought greater perspective and understanding.
When you’re in a cultural civil war (which we are), every election is consequential. Your side either advances or recedes–which means freedom grows and tyranny is restrained, or freedom shrinks and government power expands.
Here are my thoughts on the 2022 midterms.
Eve of Deception
“Eve of Destruction” was a popular Barry McGuire protest ballad back in the 1960s (written by P.F. Sloan in 1965). It spoke of a world coming apart by the forces of evil during the peak of the Vietnam War.
McGuire eventually met Jesus as his Lord and Savior and changed his tune from being a harbinger of death to a prophet of life. He has done concerts for our Youth With A Mission constituency on a number of occasions.
Destruction is usually the end result of deception that we now face on a massive scale in the 21st century.
Are we currently experiencing an Eve of Deception?
