Hating Politics But Loving Citizenship
In less than two weeks, the United States will hold elections that could determine the fate of the Western World and its own future. Not hype, just prophetic warning.
I wrote last week about Western Civilization and the demonic attempt to topple it. One strategy of destroying free nations is to sour people on “politics”–even get them to hate it–and discourage them from participating. There’s a better way.
It’s okay to hate politics as long as you love citizenship and do your duty.
Christopher Columbus and the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election
We celebrated Columbus Day this week and many businesses and government offices were closed for the holiday. Honoring Christopher Columbus takes me back to a jingle we learned in grade school:
“In fourteen hundred and ninety two Columbus sailed the ocean blue.”
The name Christopher means “Light-bearer” and Columbus paved the way for the light of Jesus Christ to spread to the Western Hemisphere. Only one of our presidential candidates shares that sentiment–Donald Trump.
My thoughts on Christopher Columbus and the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Are You Praying for Our Next President and Other World Leaders?
The Apostle Paul’s first letter to his disciple Timothy lays out some priorities for prayer:
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity (1 Timothy 2:1,2 – New Living Translation).
First, we should pray for all human beings on earth (8.2 billion estimate). God wants us to have “world vision.” Second, he encourages prayer for the leaders over those eight billion folks. They are vital to peace and harmony on earth.
